Follow the links above to purchase CUOGC Membership and British Gymnastics Insurance. Not sure you want to join? Everyone gets two free sessions to try out our club - these free sessions can be used at any Tuesday, Friday, or Sunday training. See the Termcard or Training tabs for more session info.
Who can join the club?
All members of the University (both students and staff) can join, provided they are aged 18+. We are sorry that due to British Gymnastics child protection guidelines, underage students cannot join the club. We are also open to Anglia Ruskin members and Cambridge Regional College members aged 18+. Other adults resident in Cambridge may also be allowed to join at the discretion of the Committee if space allows. Please email our Secretary if you are thinking of becoming a member.
What are the costs?
Yearly Membership of CUOGC costs £180 for Cambridge University Staff and Students (£200 for non-Cambridge-Uni members). You can also pay by term at a cost of £90 per term (£100 per term for non-Cambridge-Uni)*. In addition, all members must register themselves with British Gymnastics for insurance purposes, which costs £24 per year ('Community' Membership).
After you have had your two free taster sessions, you will not be allowed to participate in training sessions without both CUOGC membership and BG insurance. This is a rule set by our national governing body.
*NB: Easter term has a reduced price of £50/£55 as there are fewer training sessions offered.
Taster sessions
According to the rules of British Gymnastics, each person is allowed to attend up to two training sessions in a club before they are asked to pay British Gymnastics membership and join the club. We offer these two 'taster sessions' for free, and they can be used at any of our Tuesday, Friday, or Sunday training sessions. We also have dedicated beginner's taster sessions on Sunday 13th and Sunday 20th October 2024 (10am-12pm at the University Sports Centre, Philippa Fawcett Drive). Experienced gymnasts are strongly encouraged to try out our Friday sessions at Cambridge Gymnastics Academy, where there is a fully-equipped gymnasium.
New members are also welcomed throughout the year - please contact our Secretary if you would like to join mid-way through or come along to any Tuesday/Friday/Sunday session to have a go.
If you have never done gymnastics before, keep in mind that the best clothes to wear are shorts or leggings and a T-shirt, but nothing too baggy. You do not need a leotard but you may wear one if you wish. Trainers are not needed as we train barefoot or in socks (barefoot is recommended).
Club Mailing List
The Club has a mailing list which is used to inform members about travel arrangements, socials, training sessions etc. Every member will automatically be added to the list but others can be added as well by emailing the Secretary at cuogc-secretary (at) srcf (dot) net. CUOGC members will also be added to our club WhatsApp group.
